Obama's Lame Excuse for Leadership

The Republicans are majority party as Obama has become a "Lame Duck" President.

The press has hyped this headline as if it were something new, a unique and epic level of partisan animus. Members of the Obama administration also promote it as something new since it assumes no deals with Republicans will be possible. It gives Obama a handy excuse they will now use: "It's not us, they vowed from the beginning they wouldn't work with us!"

But none of this was new. The other side always vows to crush you. Anyone who's been around for a while in Washington knows the opposition always are trying to sound tough, using hyperbole to buck up the troops. It's how they talk when the other guys are on the ropes. The president and his staffers have been around for a while and they understand what they were hearing was par for the course. Sadly the majority of the voting public is too young, preoccupied, uneducated and ill-informed to know these facts; so, they are gullible to easily swallow the idea for executive orders without any objections.

Obama had really put down a red line in the 2014 Midterm elections boasting his policies were on the ballot with the Democrats who would be elected. Instead, the Republicans victoriously crossed over it while the electorate rejected his policies. So is it time for Obama to pull out the pen and sign Presidential Executive Orders for actions to pass more laws and regulations?--Where is the Constitutional Law defining the balance of powers now?

Obama believes that in order to gain any public support in the waning days of his disastrous legacy of a lame duck presidency he must pull out his pen. After all, there is no bipartisan cooperation now. So, he is attempting to write into the history books his Stimulus Programs, Immigration Reforms, War Powers Acts, Monetary Policies and Tax Reforms as laws. Obama's writings are akin to scribbling graffiti on the walls of the bathroom stall for everyone to see but no one really cares to read anyway.

Bill Clinton's foes made fierce vows about him, the enemies of both Bushes did the same. The opposing party always gets on the phone or gathers in what used to be Georgetown dens to President Reagan & Speaker Tip O'Neill - 1985 at White House denigrate the President and vow to fight him to the end. That's how blowhards blow. When Reagan came in they vowed to take him down, and it was personal. Speaker Tip O'Neill called him "ignorant" and a "disgrace" and said it was "sinful" that he was president. He called Reagan "a man who has no care and no concern for thePolitical Pundit Chris Matthews  working class of America" and said: "He's cold. He's mean. He's got ice water for blood." An O'Neill staffer, now a cable news pundit, Chris Matthews once greeted Reagan in the Capitol with the words: "Mr. President, welcome to the room where we plot against you." They did. President Reagan knew it. Yet he had no problem dealing successfully with O'Neill. He didn't moan, "Oh they hate me, it's no use!"

In the movie 'Casablanca', as the Nazi's Prefect of Police, Captain Renault raids Rick's Cafe Americain as he shouts, "I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!" - Note to the Obama White House: There's always gambling at Rick's Cafe Americain. It's never a shock and not an excuse. It's business as usual. And if you're a leader you can lead right past it.--Sound like Washington, DC?

"People do what they know how to do," meaning politicians use whatever talent they have, and when it no longer works they continue using it.  Obama, however, has now resorted to "pulling a Bogart" by adopting Bogie's film persona, Rick's attitude of a world-weary resignation at how bad things are and what little he can do about it - "After all, it's the Republican's fault." - Obama is now a Lame Duck!

5 Yr Old AARP Letter Tells It All Again

The letter below from Walt and Cyndi Miller has circulated around the Internet cosmos for nearly five years. So you ask, "Why bring it up again and now?" Because, it is important to know that AARP is already ramping up to finance Hillary Clinton for President. Everyone should be made aware of AARP's political position and whether they wish to unknowingly finance this group.

The 'from the heart" letter has repeatedly hit a nerve with numerous AARP members who had no idea that their member donations and AARP as a broker for UnitedHealth insurance products they purchased were funding liberal causes and specifically the Democrat Party, specifically both Obama Presidential campaigns. Simply put, AARP is a political arm disguised as a "Senior's Advocacy Group" that is really a cash cow to raise and finance various left leaning, liberal causes.

AARP are also attached at the hip with the powerful Service Employees Intl. Union (SEIU) pushing for universal governmental coverage since most of those workers were lower paid positions which couldn't support it. But, since the SEIU realized they couldn't get higher wages for their members, they instead pushed for an insurance exchange through a government provided universal healthcare program--eventually called Obamacare.

Walt and Cyndi Miller wrote their letter to Barry Rand, the CEO of AARP. Their disgust was focused on the blatant liberal rhetoric enshrouding ongoing healthcare issues and social issues. The AARP $20 Mil. 'Divided We Fail' Coalition became more of a megaphone to distort and indoctrinate with bias and misinformation under the guise of the all-inclusive AARP banner. The coalition was led by a handful of Washington’s most influential liberal-left lobbyists which included Andy Stern, head of the SEIU. Walt and Cyndi were on to something when they smelled a rat and it was the AARP and a disingenuous Barry Rand, CEO.

Here is Walt and Cyndi Miller's letter:

December 9, 2009

Mr. Barry Rand, CEO
Executive Director
AARP
691 E. Street, NW
Washington, DC 20049

Dear Mr. Rand,

Recently you sent us a letter encouraging us to renew our lapsed membership in AARP by the requested date. I know it is not what you were looking for, but this is the most honest response I can give you. Our gap in coverage is merely a microscopic symptom of the real problem, a deepening lack of faith.

While we have proudly maintained our membership for several years and have long admired the AARP goals and principles, regrettably, we can no longer endorse it's abdication of our values. Your letter specifically stated that we can count on AARP to speak up for our rights, yet the voice we hear is not ours. Your offer of being kept up to date on important issues through DIVIDED WE FAIL [AARP Coalition Lobby] presents neither an impartial view nor the one we have come to embrace. We do believe that when two parties agree all the time on everything presented to them, one is probably not necessary. But, when the opinions and long term goals are diametrically opposed, the divorce is imminent. This is the philosophy which spawned our 200 years of government.

Once upon a time, we looked forward to being part of the senior demographic. We also looked to AARP to provide certain benefits and give our voice a power we could not possibly hope to achieve on our own. AARP gave us a sense of belonging which we no longer enjoy. The Socialist politics practiced by the Obama administration and empowered by AARP serves only to raise the blood pressure my medical insurance strives to contain. Clearly a conflict of interest there!

We do not understand the AARP posture, feel greatly betrayed by the guiding forces that we expected to map out our senior years and leave your ranks with a great sense of regret. We mitigate that disappointment with the relief of knowing that we are not contributing to the problem anymore by renewing our membership. There are numerous other organizations which offer discounts without threatening our way of life or offending our sensibilities.

This Presidential [Obama] Administration scares the living daylights out of us. Not just for ourselves, but for our proud and bloodstained heritage. But even more importantly for our children and grandchildren. Washington has rendered Soylent Green a prophetic cautionary tale rather than a nonfiction scare tactic. I have never in my life endorsed any militant or radical groups, yet now I find myself listening to them. I don't have to agree with them to appreciate the fear which birthed their existence. Their borderline insanity presents little more than a balance to the voice of the Socialist mindset in power. Perhaps I became American by a great stroke of luck in some cosmic uterine lottery, but in my adulthood I CHOOSE to embrace it and nurture the freedoms it represents as well as the responsibilities it requires.

Your website generously offers us the opportunity to receive all communication in Spanish. ARE YOU KIDDING??? Someone has broken into our 'house', invaded our home without our invitation or consent. The President has insisted we keep the perpetrator in comfort and learn the perp language so we can communicate our reluctant welcome to them.

I DON'T choose to welcome them.  I DON'T choose to support them.  I DON'T choose to educate them.  I DON'T choose to medicate them, pay for their food or clothing.

American home invaders get arrested. Please explain to me why foreign lawbreakers can enjoy privileges on American soil that Americans do not get?

Why do some immigrants have to play the game to be welcomed and others only have to break & enter to be welcomed?

We travel for a living. Walt hauls horses all over this great country, averaging over 10,000 miles a month when he is out there. He meets more people than a politician on caffeine overdose. Of all the many good folks he enjoyed on this last 10,000 miles, this trip yielded only ONE supporter of the current administration. One of us is out of touch with mainstream America. Since our poll is conducted without funding, I have more faith in it than one which is power driven.

We have decided to forward this to everyone on our mailing list, and will encourage them to do the same. With several hundred in my address book, I have every faith that the eventual exponential factor will make a credible statement to you.

I am disappointed as hell.  I am scared as hell.  I am MAD as hell, and I'm NOT gonna take it anymore!

Sincerely,

Walt & Cyndy Miller

Obama - Unsafe at any Speed!

I remember during the 1960s when Chevrolet Corvair lead the list of automobile recalls due to faulty designs which were quite prevalent due to an ambulance chasing, sue-crazy, gadfly lawyer named Ralph Nader. He put the smackdown on GM in his book Unsafe at Any Speed, noting that the Corvair's single-piece steering column could impale the driver in a front collision. Ouch, that hurts!

Admittedly, Nader has had a great effect on U.S. law and public policy and considered by many as the father of the consumer protection movement. Over the years, his litigating zeal has hardly diminished and he continues today in running towards other windmills like Don Quixote of Cervantes'.

So although I find some of his consumer protectionism causes grossly tilted attacks on some business leading to EPA controls toward epic proportions and unreasonable laws; aside, his candor to express himself honestly is one of his strong suits.

After many years in Washington politics, Ralph Nader has certainly worked both sides of the aisle and behind closed doors which offered him a look into the workings of national government. So recently on the Mike Huckabee Show, Ralph Nader was promoting a new book and interviewed about many different issues.  One particular subject was mentioned, lightly skirted, and then the interview was over before more was said.

Ralph Nader described in passing the "selfish demeanor" as Obama tours various cities never mentioning or barely talking up the local Democrat congressmen in the district he's visiting instead encouraging voters only to vote for Barack Obama. This has been, up to now, an unmentioned aspect of Obama's Chicago-style raw politic that raises its ugly head. It has, indeed, been a backroom topic of discussion about the disillusion within the ranks of the Democrat congressional Obama minions.

Another "odd behavior" that Obama had shown on the campaign trail is that he seems to act like he doesn't really need these Congressmen much either. It's as though that branch of government, the Congressional body, is not required or needed for Obama to carry on the running of the U.S. Federal Government.  I would assume that all Barack Obama needs are "Executive Orders" to sign to circumnavigate Congress.  Maybe, eventually like Hugo Chavez and Vladimir Putin Barack just cancels the other branches of government.

Does Ralph Nader have some plausible observations he identified that the rest of us in the United States don't see?  After all, he recognized some flaws and problems in some automobiles.  I guess Politicians, like cars, can be real "Clunkers and Lemons" too.  In fact, as Ralph Nader's first big book title screamed out: "Unsafe at any speed!" ...Ralph Nader was just talking about cars.  How about Presidents?

Debbie does Dallas as She Screws with the Truth

Debbie Wasserman Schultz Baffles Anderson Cooper

Call it denial - complete denial as Debbie Wasserman Shultz was grilled by CNN Reporter Anderson Cooper.  It is certainly refreshing to watch her squirm as she gets a smarmy know--it-all grin as if to say, "I can say any lie I want and no reporter will question me in this liberal news reporting cycle of today."  In just the first minute of the interview Debbie realizes she is in trouble - just look at the shock on her face and nervous angry stares in her eyes while being caught quite off guard by her inquisiter, another liberal.  Oh, for shame Debbie!

Time:  07:08

Regardless of whether or not you agree with Anderson Cooper’s politics, the guy is arguably one of the last real journalists left in the mainstream media. During his CNN show on Thursday, August 23, 2012 the host proved that during his “Keeping Them Honest” segment where he ripped into Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) for “misquoting” a Los Angeles Times article in a fundraising email, in which she attempted to tie GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s abortion stance to Rep. Todd Akin’s. Akin came under fire this week from all sides for arguing that women’s bodies can prevent pregnancies in cases of “legitimate rape.”

Cooper was persistent in trying to coax an apology out of Schultz, but she remained defiant throughout the entire segment.

The email in question argued that the GOP “just voted to embrace Akin’s position by including a constitutional ban on all abortions — even in cases of rape or incest — in their 2012 platform.”

Schultz also criticizes Romney and his running mate Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) in the email for “saying they don’t entirely agree with that plank.” Cooper then addressed the LA Times quote that Schultz used to make her point, which he says she “misquoted.” From the email:

“…but guess what? The Los Angeles Times reported yesterday that the platform was, and I quote, ‘written at the direction of Romney’s campaign.’”

Those exact words did actually appear in the LA Times, Cooper explained, but Schultz took them “completely out of context.”
